A daily devotional habit which I've been doing for many years now is the reading and listening to is Catholic Daily Reflections by My Catholic Life!
I email-subscribed to receive Catholic Daily Reflections. The complete Reflection reading is included in each email. Not once have they ever includes advertisements or solicitation for money (although they do accept donations through their website).
The Reflection begins with a sentence or two of the days' liturgical Gospel reading, and continues by expounding upon with several paragraphs of the Gospel reading. It always concludes with a prayer.
I recommend this Catholic resource as part of your daily habit. It sets the tone for each day, and points to building up one's spiritual life at home, at work, and in your community.
